「真理」皮爾斯本季改披籃網戰袍，昨天他首度以外人身分回到塞爾提克主場，依舊受到球迷愛戴，主場螢幕播放過去他生涯比賽的精華，場邊有支持他的球迷高舉海報，終場籃網以85：79絆倒綠衫軍。

皮爾斯與賈奈特彷彿是搖滾巨星，受到TD花園球場如雷的歡呼，暫時把勝負擺一邊，皮爾斯表示，這是他生涯打過最艱辛的一場比賽，不管是背水一戰的季後賽第七場或是總冠軍賽，這比什麼都困難，他從選秀投入NBA直到上季，15個球季都是塞爾提克人。

賈奈特感同身受，曾替灰狼隊與塞爾提克效力的他表示，球迷的掌聲比他回到明尼蘇達還要誇張，他必須要非常專注才能在場上打球。
