　　Bethesda Softworks 宣佈，人氣 FPS 系列最新作 PC／PS3／Xbox 360 版《德軍總部：新指令》（暫譯）（Wolfenstein: The New Order）將於 2013 年第 4 季推出，負責開發的Zenimax旗下工作室 Machine Games，前身為曾以《The Chronicle of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay》獲得極高評價的瑞士開發團隊 Starbreeze Studios。

　　目前已知本作舞台將設定在納粹控制了第 2 次世界大戰戰局的 1960 年代，描述主角 B.J.  Blasco Witz 單槍匹馬潛入量產高科技武器的納粹中樞過程。

　　《Wolfenstein》系列家譜可追溯至 1981 年推出的 Apple II 用《Castle Wolfenstein》，但真正名聲大噪則是 1992 年由 id Software 所發行的《Wolfenstein 3D》，採用當時首見的模擬 3D 化手法造成轟動，成為隔年推出的 3D 射擊遊戲《DOOM》先驅，是一款被形容為「FPS 教父」的歷史性作品，在 2009 年由 Activision 發行的《Wolfenstein》則是由 Raven Software 採用 id Tech 4 遊戲引擎開發而成。
