感光細胞研究 防視網膜退化

〔自由時報記者孟慶慈／台南報導〕成大眼科醫師張義昇兩年前獲國家衛生研究院獎助赴美從事醫學研究，在學者Anand Swaroop的頂尖眼科實驗室進行視網膜細胞治療小鼠實驗，改善了小鼠退化的視網膜功能，開啟視網膜退化治療曙光；今年初才回台的張義昇表示，在國科會與成大的支持下，他將在成大醫學院建立起國內第一個視網膜細胞治療的實驗室。

張義昇表示，視網膜退化是眼睛常見疾病，他參與的視網膜細胞治療動物實驗，針對的是老年性黃斑部病變、高度近視黃斑部病變，以及多種遺傳性視網膜退化疾病；糖尿病引起的則不在此內。

目前的醫學，對視網膜退化、感光細胞喪失仍無有效治療方式，但全球頂尖的實驗室都已著手研究視網膜細胞治療。

張義昇的動物實驗，從新生幼鼠眼睛分離出視網膜感光細胞的前驅細胞，再以注射法移植進入視網膜退化小鼠的視網膜下空間，一個月後發現，這些移植的細胞會移動進入退化的視網膜層並存活，且向上、下發展，與相關的神經相連結。

張義昇說，此研究若要用於人類，還有很長的一段路要走，估計還需廿、卅年。
